| The Antelope Valley Band Review will celebrate its 32nd year on December 5, 2009. Both the Band Review and the Field Tournament are held on the first Saturday in December in conjunction with the Lancaster Christmas/Holiday Parade. The Band Review begins at 9:30am with the Parade beginning at 10:00am. Parade Awards are usually around 12:30 at Antelope Valley High School when we are able to get the last competing band from the street. There is a full slate of awards for the Band Review including many Sweepstakes awards. The Field Tournament is held at Antelope Valley High School and begins at 2:30pm. Awards will be given at around 6:30pm. The Awards ceremony usually lasts for an hour. There are trophies for each place in each division for all categories (Band, Percussion and Auxiliaries). There are Sweepstakes for High Music, High Visual, High General Effect, Percussion, Auxiliaries and Band. There is a Grand Champions Banner that is awarded to the highest combined score for the Band Review and Field Tournament. You do NOT have to compete in one to get awards in the other. Each competition has a complete, and separate, awards package. |
